Daily Verse

Sunday~
"How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from you commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Psalm 119:9-11

Why do we try to conform God to our will? Live in His word and know true joy.

Monday~
"Make me to know your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old."
Psalm 25:4-6

God reveals the truth of our time and all time to us through Scripture.

Tuesday~
"The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the tstimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple: the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the LORD are true, and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb."
Psalm 19:7-10

All the laws in all the books in all the libraries of the world are but a footnote to the law of God.

Wednesday~
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways ackowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
Proverbs 3:5-6

To know and understand God comes not through our intellect, but through the wisdom given to us by the grace of God.

Thursday~
"My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart."
Proverbs 3:1-3

Don't measure success by society's standards. Use Christ as your measuring stick.

Friday~
"The the LORD answered Job our of the whirlwind and said: 'Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding, Who determined its measurements - surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? Or who laid its cornerstond...?'"
Job 38:1, 4-6

When we measure God by our limited standards, we attempt to measure the elephant by weighing one strand of its hair.

Saturaday~
"Philip said to him, 'Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.' Jesus said to him, 'Have I been with you so lon, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, Show us the Father?'"
John 14:8-9

Christ is God made flesh. If you want to know God, you must draw closer to Jesus.

Snow + Kids = Snowtime

Tuesday afternoon it was fairly nice as far as the temps go (relative since less than 48 before we were close to 80!) but it seemed like a good idea to bundle the kids up and let them enjoy some snowtime. Princess did not like it from the beginning...Sunshine LOVED IT!!! He actually cried when it was time to go in!

Daddy showed the kids the big drift in the back of the house and how to play 'skeet ball' on it with Princess's princess ball!Hiding behind a tall drift... Sunshine playing with his bat and making dents in the snow!Princess starting to head through the tunnel and turning around to come back because she wasn't so sure about the snow being so far over her head! But they made it safely through! With Daddy waiting for them on the deck at the other side
Someone taught them how to eat snow...hmmmSunshine really liked the 'ice cream'Happy to be going back the other direction (she thought we were going in!)Sunshine going down down down the stepsStopping to take a lick of 'ice cream'Again, happy because she thought we were going in Sunshine was just loving the snow She realized we were not going in

That same someone taught them how to make snowballs AND throw them! hmmmmm...Having fun over 3 foot of snow

Until he sunk! But he still didn't get too upset, he worked hard and managed to get out all by himself!

Tuesday

After receiving feet of heavy snow, Handsome decided he would take his snow day to start digging out! He started bright and early Tuesday morning, the snow was actually still falling but was almost finished. He dug and dug! This is our neighbor to the North,if you remember from yesterdays post...they have a layer of skirting before the door starts...and the snow is half way up their door!

Other neighbors, that is their main entrance to their house!

Looking to the South...
Looking to the North...The big drift behind our houseHandsome shoveled out a tunnel to our back deck!A big drift on top of our house
This finished project in front of our house! Didn't he do a wonderful job, just wish is wasn't all in vain!Handsome's truck surrounded by snowOur dear suburbanAs you can see the blue skies came out and it started melting already on Tuesday! That is what I love about Spring snow around here...it doesn't stick around long!

About Handsome'swork being in vain...we had to get out on Tuesday night to get stuff for our furnace (it quit on Monday night!) and when we returned after only being gone about a hour or so this is what we find!Someone (our neighbors we called the cops on Sunday about) had decided they needed to shovel 2 foot of snow back into our sidewalk! And where Handsome had spent about 5 hours shoveling out our suburban and truck! The neighbor that lived between us and them had seen them doing it and was willing to talk to the police about it. So we called the Deputy and had him come. It happened to be the same one that came on Sunday along with the same lady officer. They were not too impressed by this at all!A shovel mark to prove that it was shoveled in!
The only problem was that our good neighbor only saw them doing the street, not actually doing our sidewalk...and since the street is not our personal property nothing could really be done about it that night. The Deputy did say he was going to turn it in the the States Attorneys office and see what they thought about it. They are watching the dad of this family pretty carefully and have asked us to call them immediately if anything else happens. Apparently this guy is very dangerous and it is in our best interest...next time he will be arrested!

77* Sunday...blizzard on Monday!

After a few days of abnormally warm temps we were sideswiped by a Spring blizzard that started early Monday morning. All but one of the Patch kids didn't even come Monday morning and by noon the interstate was closed and no one was going anywhere! J was able to work all but about an hour on Monday, but when he got home he took some time to snuggle our little ones who were not feeling so well that day.

Not so restful Sunday...

It started out as the most wonderful Sunday a person could ask for, filled with church and wonderful people. As we do every Sunday we got up and went to church, but actually made it there early for once! Had some great fellowship while we nibbled on some tasty treats, and enjoyed a great time of praise, worship, and learning from Gods Word. After church we went out with C.G. and his girlfriend (CG is one of M&T G's boys, the family is very special to us) and enjoyed getting to know them a little more. The waitress then let us know we were free to leave whenever because we didn't have a check, a great guy from our church had taken care of our bill!

Enter funny story: After getting the kids buckled into the suburban, I had them say "thank you Lord for dinner." Whenever we go out to eat we usually thank Daddy, but since we didn't pay this time, it seemed only fitting to thank the Lord. Well, AG did a great job and was more than happy to jump in and say, "Thank you Lord for dinner." EE needed a little help in that direction though, so I walked him through it word by word. After he was finished AG apparently became the voice of God and said, "You're welcome EE." Of course I am only kidding about the voice of God part, but it just was kind of comical to us!

After this we went over to E&Ms for a hand of pinochle, in which the girls WON!

We then came home for a nice relaxing rest of the afternoon/evening. J decided he was going to help CG at his house just a few blocks away and I put the kids down for a nap to go sit outside write thank yous and read a book on our deck since it was almost 80*F! The relaxing and restful time soon came to an end, when the neighbors kids starting shooting their little soft air pellets guns and came within 2 inches of my left eye! We have had trouble with this before, so I called J who then called the cops! It took about two hours or more before this was all settled and we had to give written accounts of what happened to the cops. More about these neighbors in a couple of days!

M&T G stopped by to see if they needed to watch the kids while we dealt with the above situation, and since I was staying away from them we were good. However, it was nice to have someone to talk to while J was dealing with the situation! M&T G invited us over for tacos with their kids after things calmed down and we had a very enjoyable time (as usual) with them. J even got to sit in the hot tub!

What a blessing M&T G have been to us, especially in the last few months. I just want to close this post by saying that they have been a huge source of encouragement to us, and that honestly have helped us through several situations we really didn't know how to get through on our own. Such godly people that love to serve Christ through loving others! We feel very blessed to be able to consider them friends!

Sunny Saturday

I worked at my sometimes Saturday job last weekend and that put Handsome in charge of the kids. This man is amazing! Not only did he watch the kids, but he was able to re-landscape the front of the house and deck at the same time! I have the best husband anyone could ever ask for! I think he did a GREAT job! The best part...he found strawberry bushes and was able to work around most of them!!! Yea!!!!!!!!!!Princess is also working on learning how to pedal her bike...the whole 99 cents it cost me when she was just 2 months old! They also got a chance to ride their BigWheels...which they again do not have the pedaling down...they had fun regardless, and slept very well that night!

My Blog...or blogs in general!

If you haven't started a blog of your own, you probably are going to think I am crazy, if you have one...you know what I am talking about!

I posted my first post on April 27th, 2007. My children were 7 & 4 months old. It was about that day and our new 2 ring blow up pool. Pretty cute they were, who would have known what that first post would lead to! My only regret about blogging since then: I didn't start sooner! I know that I have been spotty in trying to keep our life updated for you all to see, but being a mom to two 2 year olds and having a daycare kind of keeps me on my toes!

To the thankful part...I would have NEVER guessed how much I would enjoy 'airing out my laundry' for whomever wants to read. Sure, part of it is keeping all of our family members up to date about the newest craziness that is going on in our lives...but another part of it is just a way of expression. I used to write poems to express myself. I believe the last one I ever wrote was after our 3rd miscarriage back on January 20th of 2005. Life got pretty busy after that, and I needed a new way of expression. Look at all we have been through together on lovebeingmama.blogspot.com !

I know that there are times that it isn't beneficial for all of my family to be reading and seeing every tiny little thing that I post about, but my #1 thing that I want to be remembered for was being REAL! What you see is what you get.

So on this Thankful Thursday you get to hear ramblings, just tidbits of why I keep doing this! For those of you who do not blog yet, try it! And those of you that do, thank you ~ I so enjoy reading yours, almost as much as I enjoy keeping mine up.

Go blog hunting one day and see what you come across...I have lost track of how many I follow via google reader...it is one of the first things I do in the morning and one of the last before bed at night...go check to see who else has posted! If I don't check it over the weekend I usually have 100+ posts to read...wow!

I am thankful for blogging!
