Daily Verse

Sunday~
"How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from you commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Psalm 119:9-11

Why do we try to conform God to our will? Live in His word and know true joy.

Monday~
"Make me to know your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old."
Psalm 25:4-6

God reveals the truth of our time and all time to us through Scripture.

Tuesday~
"The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the tstimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple: the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the LORD are true, and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb."
Psalm 19:7-10

All the laws in all the books in all the libraries of the world are but a footnote to the law of God.

Wednesday~
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways ackowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
Proverbs 3:5-6

To know and understand God comes not through our intellect, but through the wisdom given to us by the grace of God.

Thursday~
"My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart."
Proverbs 3:1-3

Don't measure success by society's standards. Use Christ as your measuring stick.

Friday~
"The the LORD answered Job our of the whirlwind and said: 'Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding, Who determined its measurements - surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? Or who laid its cornerstond...?'"
Job 38:1, 4-6

When we measure God by our limited standards, we attempt to measure the elephant by weighing one strand of its hair.

Saturaday~
"Philip said to him, 'Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.' Jesus said to him, 'Have I been with you so lon, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, Show us the Father?'"
John 14:8-9

Christ is God made flesh. If you want to know God, you must draw closer to Jesus.

December 28th, 2008

The Sunday after Christmas we went with Handsome's family to his parents church. It is difficult going back that direction as we have 2 churches we go between, both of our families, and many MANY friends that we like to spend time with. This time all of his family were going to be there, minus his brother whom had to work. We were going to try and get a picture of all the cousins since the last cousins picture I have is before the last three cousins were born ~ but we were not able to corral everyone all at the same time. I do believe later that day there was a cousins picture taken minus our kids as we ate lunch with my family.

Here we have Princess talking to some of the wonderful people at the church. And the people at Handsome's parents church are WONDERFUL...before my bloggy days they threw us a surprise baby shower when Princess was a month old. The wonderful things that they gave to us, I will never forget! She received her first pair of Levi's, a beautiful hand knit blanket, many MANY beautiful tiny dresses, dolls, blankets, sleepers and fun baby items! Oh the fun it was! I didn't know how to take it. This church is so helpful to many people and they do it with smiles on their face for the glory of God!

So the only pictures I took that day were of Princess, hopefully I will get caught up here sooner than later and get to the pictures of our new house!

Last Weekend with the Hartungs'

Last weekend was the annual Hartung Family BBQ. After Jamey and Kelly's wedding on Friday night we loaded up the truck and headed East (the VERY wrong side of the river!) It was the first time that all 8 Hartung cousins were together, and Ethan's first official time with our last name! Here are a few pictures to show you our short time together...
This was at supper time: Grete Lace and Nadia
Still at supper time: Harold, Jeremy, and Jason at the table and Grete Lace, Ethan, and Katia playing on the floor.
Jennie and Alexa finishing up their supper...can you tell that they are Mama and Daughter?
We didn't get a picture of everyone together...this one was taken right before we left and Eric, Melissa, and Sophie had already gone. Hopefully at Christmas we will be able to get all 8!
Nadia, Katia, Ada Grace, Ashley [me], Ethan, Grete Lace, Flint, and Alexa
Flint ~ growing up so fast! When flint was about Ethans age and younger him and I were best of buds!
Grete Lace...I LOVE this picture!

Nieces

I am excited to annouce that we have two new nieces on Handsome's side. I do not have any pictures yet, but once I do I will be posting some! SA was born Saturday the 12th to Handsome's sister & husband; she was 4 lbs 13 oz and KH was born Wednesday the 16th to Handsome's brother & wife; she was 7 lbs 5 oz. Both Mama's and Babies had to stay in the hostpital for a little while, but as far as I know all should be out by now and doing pretty well. SA & Mommy were there to recover from emergency c-section, KH stayed due to a touch of jaundice and Mama stayed to be with her. We are very excited, this brings the total H cousins up to 8! We have added 4 in the last 8 months! (That is if you include Boo.)

Just really needed to share that news. Now we are just excited to see two of our friends out here have their first little ones. One due in July, and one I just found out about so I am not sure of the due date. We just love babies!
