Daily Verse

Sunday~
"How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from you commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Psalm 119:9-11

Why do we try to conform God to our will? Live in His word and know true joy.

Monday~
"Make me to know your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old."
Psalm 25:4-6

God reveals the truth of our time and all time to us through Scripture.

Tuesday~
"The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the tstimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple: the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the LORD are true, and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb."
Psalm 19:7-10

All the laws in all the books in all the libraries of the world are but a footnote to the law of God.

Wednesday~
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways ackowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
Proverbs 3:5-6

To know and understand God comes not through our intellect, but through the wisdom given to us by the grace of God.

Thursday~
"My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart."
Proverbs 3:1-3

Don't measure success by society's standards. Use Christ as your measuring stick.

Friday~
"The the LORD answered Job our of the whirlwind and said: 'Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding, Who determined its measurements - surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? Or who laid its cornerstond...?'"
Job 38:1, 4-6

When we measure God by our limited standards, we attempt to measure the elephant by weighing one strand of its hair.

Saturaday~
"Philip said to him, 'Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.' Jesus said to him, 'Have I been with you so lon, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, Show us the Father?'"
John 14:8-9

Christ is God made flesh. If you want to know God, you must draw closer to Jesus.

Pretty Flowers

I am sure that many of you already know that in our new house I have a difficult time moving around during nap time without waking anyone up. SO, I spend time either in my office corner or in the living room (depending on what day it is). One day I happened to have some beautiful flowers from J&L and the housewarming party they gave us AND my camera was in the living room as well. I took off my ring and decided to do a little photo shoot of my own. Hope you enjoy, I had fun!

Catching you up...

Here a few random pictures from the first week of February!
Princess & Sunshine having breakfast on a Sunday morning that Daddy went to church early so set up/practice and so it was just the three of us getting ready again...just like old times! I am so thankful that my children choose to eat bananas, grapes, & yogurt over things like Pizza & Chicken Nuggets (not to say they don't like those things...they just like the other stuff more!)My husband brought home flowers last week to help me feel special. Now ladies please remember he is already taken AND that we had just been through remodling, packing, AND moving in a 40 day time span! This isn't an every day occurance...more like twice a year or so! Regarless, I was thankful that he took the time to think of me!
Princess & Sunshine having some deep conversation while she calms a baby to sleep on her shoulder! Did I mention that I think my kids are ready to be big brother & sister? And that would be okay with Mommy & Daddy too!

She is such a little Mommy!

Seriously!

Sunday Evening

On Sunday Evening while Jason and I were sitting in the living room it all of a sudden looked to be a very pretty, almost pink, color outside. I grabbed my new camera (I love it) and ran out and got some really neat pictures of the sky. None of these have been altered...this is truely what the sky looked like that night!

I love how there was a "V" shaped cloud in front of the sun that made the pretty colors on these clouds from where the suns shadow was!

I also snapped a few pictures of our roses. Now that they have over come the over spray from the yard (we have talked to the people that do it and it should not be happening again) they are really going to town again. My climber is way over my head now, and we only lost one rose bush of the 18 in the over spray accident.
My purple rose with a little rain on it...

And then after the boys went to bed, AG and I spent some time together, just the girls...how fun was that? Well, AG was wound up that night and just was a hoot to be around...as usual!

Beautiful Flowers

Just a little bit ago there was a knock at my door and this is what I found...well they were in bunches and I "dressed" them and arranged them and look how beautiful they are! There is this wonderful family in our church who think of all these wonderful ways to encourage their Pastor and family and I would have never thought of sending flowers to someone for their son's adoption! Thank you so much! She is also making Sunshine's cake and I cannot wait to see what she has up her sleeve. I gave her a napkin from the party deco and told her that I trusted her and couldn't wait to see what she came up with! There will be pictures for sure! Anyway, enjoy the beautiful roses as much as I do...the pictures do not do them justice. There are all sorts of different colors in them: reds, peaches, yellows and all combos of each!
Also notice the cute little picture of my brother and Christy peeking around the vase!

Some of my roses....

Anyone who knows me know I LOVE roses! We have planted roses in every house that we have lived in. I didn't think we could ever top the way the front of our Huron home looked, we had a peach rose there that had over 50 buds and blooms at one time! However, we have 18 rose bushes here with room for at least 1 more when I find the "perfect" one! I hope that you enjoy them as much as I do!

This one is peachy colored and it looks like someone has been dropping little speckles of yellow paint on it...it is one of my FUN roses!

Thursday, June 12th (again)

Thursday we went to the Spring Valley Nature Center and while there we were able to see the Volkening Heritage Farm. It is a farm that shows what it was like back in the 1880's. The barn was made with all wood, no nails. There is no running water...it was pretty neat. Anyway, we were able to see different animals. The kids didn't think very highly of being up close and personal with the horses. I didn't think very highly of them blowing snot all over my new stroller! Ada Grace did warm up to them after a little while.
Ethan was not going to let me go until we got out of that barn! He was so scared. After we took this picture he looked over my shoulder to see if the horse was still there and just started screaming. However, on behalf of Aunt Wendy I better tell THE REST OF THE STORY. When we first walked into the barn two of the horses decided to start a little fight, trying to bite each other and all. It did make an adult a little nervous...but Ethan doesn't like any non-human thing that moves anyway.
In the middle of of one of the trails was this rather large field of peony's. They are not one of my favorite flowers (mostly because of the ant issue) but to see this many of them in all different colors was beautiful. Jason snapped this picture of wonderful Aunt Wendy and I.
Next we saw the turtles. ETHAN LOVED THEM! Ada Grace warmed up to them after a bit. My favorite was that they were inside and air conditioned building!
Ethan actually reached out and touched one of the turtles shells. Notice Ada Grace isn't leaving Daddy's side!
I just really think this picture is great!
He studied them for a long time and really seemed to enjoy the turtles.
On our hike back to the car Jason was pushing the stroller in front of us and Aunt Wendy and myself were walking behind him. All of a sudden Wendy and I were being dive bombed by a bird. It was kind of comical because the three adults were just telling the kids with the horses that they were just animals and there was nothing to be afraid of. You should have heard the screams coming out of our mouths...I am sure the kids were thinking, "yeah right mom, nothing to be afraid of!"
BEST PART OF THE SPRING VALLEY NATURE CENTER...IT WAS FREE!

I have to share...

Tonight Jason is planting 8 more rose bushes and putting up some fence to make our front yard even prettier! The kids are inside the house watching us from the window (while it is nice here, it isn't nice enough in the evenings for the kids to be out for too long.) At one point I looked to the kids and they were not in the window, both Jason and I agreed this could mean distruction of something so I went to check it out. Upon opening the door I hear the sound of a duck call, and just as quickly my daughter screaming in terror! Ethan has found another way to drive his sister nuts! I laughed quietly, went back out and told Jason, then had to take the duck call away from Ethan and tell him it wasn't nice to do that to Ada Grace!

Sorry, no pictures or video...my camera was on the other side of them and it would have disturbed the happenings!

Spring Flowers

The roses are off to a good start!

These are kind of blury, but I am so excited. The lilac bushes are actually going to bloom this year!!! They had been cut down like hedges and we have not had lilacs since we moved here!!!

Beautiful Sunday Afternoon Walk!!!

We were able to use our John Deere wagon that Grandpa & Grandma Norgaard gave the kids for their birthdays today!!!

Ethan and Mama at the top of the slide, neither or the kids had been on a slide before! They didn't know what to think of it...
Daddy helping Ada Grace ride the duck, Ethan didn't like it.
Back in the wagon, as usual Daddy and Mommy (mostly Daddy) walk longer than the kids want. Ada Grace did pretty well, but Ethan was so tired. We let him lay down, but as you can see, sissy didn't let him get any sleep!

Almost home, you will see that our grass is green, Jason is in shorts sleeves, the kids do not have jackets on, and the upper hills still have snow (in the background.) I am not sure how warm it is today, my guess is 65 and they are forcasting 80's for this week...I LOVE IT HERE!!! You can also see little Ethan's head poking over the top of the wagon.
Mommy and Daddy stopped to admire Mommy's roses and Ethan decided he had enough of Ada's greif so we was trying to get out...he is actually on his belly with his feet on Ada Grace's tummy. I think they will keep me busy this summer! What a blessing to have the cutest kids in the world!
