Daily Verse

Sunday~
"How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from you commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Psalm 119:9-11

Why do we try to conform God to our will? Live in His word and know true joy.

Monday~
"Make me to know your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old."
Psalm 25:4-6

God reveals the truth of our time and all time to us through Scripture.

Tuesday~
"The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the tstimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple: the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the LORD are true, and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb."
Psalm 19:7-10

All the laws in all the books in all the libraries of the world are but a footnote to the law of God.

Wednesday~
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways ackowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
Proverbs 3:5-6

To know and understand God comes not through our intellect, but through the wisdom given to us by the grace of God.

Thursday~
"My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart."
Proverbs 3:1-3

Don't measure success by society's standards. Use Christ as your measuring stick.

Friday~
"The the LORD answered Job our of the whirlwind and said: 'Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding, Who determined its measurements - surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? Or who laid its cornerstond...?'"
Job 38:1, 4-6

When we measure God by our limited standards, we attempt to measure the elephant by weighing one strand of its hair.

Saturaday~
"Philip said to him, 'Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.' Jesus said to him, 'Have I been with you so lon, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, Show us the Father?'"
John 14:8-9

Christ is God made flesh. If you want to know God, you must draw closer to Jesus.

More Good News!

We just found out that we get our van back tomorrow!!! I am sooooo excited, the 2000 Odyssey isn't bad, but they have made some great advances since then! I will be nice to be back in our own van. The best part of all of this is that one of the higher upper guys from Vern Eide is bringing our van to Rapid City, we don't even have to travel 5 1/2 hours to Sioux Falls to get it!

If anyone wants to buy a vehicle call Curt Foos at Vern Eide! They take care of you sooooo well...tell him we sent you and he will work very well for you! I cannot help but share how well they have taken care of us.

It is DONE!!!

Just thought I would share with everyone that as of 10:00 this morning we are no longer home owners! Yeah!

We are so happy that the house finally sold. They were the nicest couple, an older couple who's kids are all grown.

The Kids

What a fun time in their lives! Boo gets a real kick out of our mirrored closet doors, He can play in there for a long time and never get tired of smiling at himself!
Princess is finally able to crawl to get anywhere she wants to go. I know it took her a while, but she NEVER liked being on her tummy! I also think she wishes she never showed us she could do it, because sometimes she refuses to crawl just so we will pick her up! Silly girl.

Today..........

I am a mama to an 11 month old and an 8 month old. Pics tomorrow!

A PRINCESS picture session

On the 21st, we tried to take some good pictures of Princess to put on her Brithday Invite...as you can see she loves the camera! That is a good thing too...as we had her and Boo's pictures done on Friday "professionally." I wanted one of Princess & Boo Together and one of each of them by themselves.
We tried the "birthday picture" first, she was holding a #1 and it took only one shot! I kept the first one!
As for the picture of them together, it only took two, it isn't great, but Boo wasn't feeling well that day. They really wanted him to sit up with his sister, the idea is cute, but he just isn't there yet. I was behind the picture table holding onto his overalls...trying to stay out of the picture! All in all, I think it went pretty well. The one of him by himself, I had him lay on his tummy and cross his hands, I think we used the second one. We had so many shots left we just goofed around for the rest of them! (I didn't keep any of them, but they have to use their quota!)

I wasn't really planning on getting their pictures taken until it was closer to Princess's real birthday, but my mom was here and I thought it would be much easier to accomplish that task with an extra set of hands. When we had it done in Feb. I did it by myself and that was a little bit more work.

Here's to hoping Boo gets better at taking pictures (sitting up) before November when we take our family Christmas pictures and his birthday picture! He will have to smile well for those! I don't think that we will have trouble with Princess, she is a ham!

Just Relaxin'

On Tuesday I was determined to get a good picture for Princess's birthday invites....you are all invited! Sept 29th at noon!
Anyway, her and Boo were just charactors that day...they didn't want to be very far away from eachother....and while I love my son, these pictures were really suppose to be all about Princess!
We ended up getting some good ones of her, but I also love this one...hope you do too!

Sunday...our trip home

It wasn't long before our weekend came to an end and it was time to come home. Sunday morning we went to the Baptist Church in Lake Benton. This is the church that my Grandpa went to, and we have many friends and family memebers that attend there.
After church we were able to meet up with my parents and Farmer & Wife for lunch at the Pizza Ranch. We had alot of fun with them, Farmer is always one to bring a smile to your face! Before we left, they took their turns holding the children. They are such caring Aunt & Uncle!
You all might think this picture is funny looking. It is actually a front view of our children's carseats in the van on the way home. They both are still rear facing and I had 'cought' them holding hands a few times and tried to get a picture of that, but wasn't able to. I was able to get a picture of Ada handing her brother a toy, I just thought it was too cute! Her little black hand reaching out to his little white hand. They love eachother so much!

Family BBQ

This last weekend was the annual family BBQ with Handsome's family. I though that I would include a bunch of pictures from the day together. Boo & cousin K playing on the floor.
Cousin F finding a place to sit.

Cousin GL entertaining Boo. Uncle J & Daddy tending to a very grumpy Princess.

Handsome with his older brother and younger sister.

Do you see the tear on her face?
Cousin AD sitting with Princess while she was fussy.
Handsome's parents.
I tried very hard to get pictures of everyone, somehow that just didn't happen.

A rough start

Friday evening we started out for eastern South Dakota and just a half hour down the road ran into quite a suprize!
The weather was great to start with and then all of a sudden we heard a sound that you really do not want to hear while in a vehicle surrounded by glass...hail! It started small, about pea sized, but quickly grew to tennis ball size. The over passes were full instantly, we decided to keep going as this was just the beginning (we had turned off Patch the Pirate and tuned into a local radio station) there were times we were going just 15 miles per hour, but it was so sad to drive by all the people on the side of the road that had lost 1 or more of their windows. We just kept praying, "Lord, please keep the windows, please, for the children." He answered our prayer, though we did have a crack in the windshield, it never caused any trouble.

As we looked to the other side of the interstate, they had closed it due to the large amount of glass along the road. For 10 miles we saw a double lane of vehicles bumper to bumper, and almost all of them were without at least one window. Bikers were running from their motorcylces and finding safety in strangers cars and trucks. We so badly wanted to stop to see what the damage was, but decided we HAD to stay in front of the storm so kept going. We drove for about an hour before feeling it was safe to stop for a few minutes. These pictures aren't great, it was raining, but I had to have something for the blog. I have to say I was a HONDA lover before, but we faired so well in comparason to the other vehicles we saw. I saw one family in a Chrysler 300 they had two adults and three kids in the front seat because their back window had been smashed in. The cars looked like they had been beaten with baseball bats. We had minor damage compared to most others...it was hard to watch hail stones the size of tennis balls bounce off of your hood! We have reports that we had up to $10000 damage to our 2007 Honda Odessey. We dropped it off at Vern Eide Honda in Sioux Falls (were we bought our last two vehicles) and they have started on it as of today. We are now driving a loaner 2000 Odessey until our Van is finished. We are thankful the Lord protected us as well as He did!
By the way...if any one wants a good vehicle and want to trust that you will be taken care of contact Curt Foos at Vern Eide in Sioux Falls! They have done well for us with our 1998 Accord and 2007 Odessey!
I am sure you will hear more about this at a later date!

Princess's first try!

On Thursday night I allowed Princess one spoonful of Chicken Noodle Dinner so she could try and feed herself. The first thing she did once she finally got that spoon in her hand was wave it around OVER her head!
The result was that the Chicken Noodle Dinner ended up on the kitchen cabinet behind her, thankfully...she was no worse off!
Crazy Girl!

Boo Boo

Yesterday was a rough day for Boo, but the picture of him in the high chair shows that through all of that he can still give us a smile!
These other two pictures are of him before his theropy session this moring. Vikki (the theropist) was encouraged today by the new movements in his legs...good news after just two weeks ago hearing he may never walk!

Oh how much fun is it to have babies in the house? I just love it. In fact, I am ready for another!

Watch Me!!!

I could almost hear her say it last night, "Watch me Mama, watch me!" She was such a card! From Snuggling with Daddy, to kissing herself (in the mirror) she just was full of joy! How much we love watching her, what a blessing.

The one picture of Princess snuggling her little bunny just shows the enjoyment she gets from her new favorite today. The bunny sings "Jesus love me".

Our beautiful princess is pretty in pink. Enjoy the show...I know we did!

We are napping, Mama!

My children were suppose to be napping this afternoon and this is what I found when I went to check on them...
Boo rolled onto his tummy playing with his bear.

Princess standing up in her crib (a first) just laughing away when I walked into the room! Crazy kids!

SA....3 months old!

Here is my niece, SA. She was 3 months old on Sunday...she has almost caught up to her cousin (Boo) in wieght! We are proud of her though, as she was a premie! I cannot wait until Saturday to see her (and her parents)

We have a BBQ for Handsome's family this coming weekend, and will be staying at my parents house. Hopefully I will be able to take their 4 wheeler for a spin!

I said CHEEZE Mama!

Princess is becoming more and more of a character every day! Any time the camera gets out she knows that if she "performs" that bright light will go....I guess she has a little more of me in her than I could have imagined! (I always used to tell Grandma Jeanne "Put me on a picture of this, Grandma!"

Anyway, she here was starting to get upset because I was taking pictures of other things, and wasn't giving her attention. So this is what I got!

As for Boo, well, none of the pictures that were just of him turned out this time. He is really tough to get GOOD pictures of. But you can see him playing in the background! Poor kid, he is going to think that his is second to his sister, but with his pale complection and great timing for closed eyes, he makes it difficult!

It a BIG one!!!!

5 years ago today, I married Handsome! It is amazing how fast time goes. It is amazing what one day can hold! August 10th 2002 was a very full day, two lives became one, I married my best friend, he and I shared our first kiss (in front of almost 200 of our closest friends and family) , and our children were not there to see it!

Handsome had his brother as his best man, and his other two groomsmen were Farmer and Handsomes sister's husband. I had Handsome's brothers wife as my matron of honor, and my other two bridesmaids were my aunt and Handsome's sister. Our flower girls were NL & AD, our ushers were Byron (friend), Chad Vis(friend), & my cousin.

We are so amazed to be here, and see where the last 5 years have taken us. 5 addresses, 1 house project, 2 children, 2 dogs, 12 vehicles, 2 lawnmowers, adoption, fostering, and many many miles! We love were we are now, but cannot help but wonder what the next 5 years will bring.

Thank you to all who helped us join our lives together 5 years ago, and thank you for the memories that you have helped us create since then! For those of you who we have not seen since August 10th, 2002....get in touch we miss you!
We thank the Lord that He brought Jason & myself together, and that He has given us these 5 wonderful years!

On This Day....

On this day in HIStory, back in 1957 a great thing happened...Grandpa Farmer was born! Most of the pictures I have of him lately, have been with his grandaughter, but I did manage to find one of him with mom at Mt. Rushmore.

I just wanted to wish my Dad a VERY VERY VERY HAPPY Birthday!
Ada & Ethan wish a very awesome Grandpa a Happy Birthday as well!
