Daily Verse

Sunday~
"How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from you commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Psalm 119:9-11

Why do we try to conform God to our will? Live in His word and know true joy.

Monday~
"Make me to know your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old."
Psalm 25:4-6

God reveals the truth of our time and all time to us through Scripture.

Tuesday~
"The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the tstimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple: the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the LORD are true, and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb."
Psalm 19:7-10

All the laws in all the books in all the libraries of the world are but a footnote to the law of God.

Wednesday~
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways ackowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
Proverbs 3:5-6

To know and understand God comes not through our intellect, but through the wisdom given to us by the grace of God.

Thursday~
"My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart."
Proverbs 3:1-3

Don't measure success by society's standards. Use Christ as your measuring stick.

Friday~
"The the LORD answered Job our of the whirlwind and said: 'Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding, Who determined its measurements - surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? Or who laid its cornerstond...?'"
Job 38:1, 4-6

When we measure God by our limited standards, we attempt to measure the elephant by weighing one strand of its hair.

Saturaday~
"Philip said to him, 'Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.' Jesus said to him, 'Have I been with you so lon, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, Show us the Father?'"
John 14:8-9

Christ is God made flesh. If you want to know God, you must draw closer to Jesus.

Good Morning Boo Boo!

The other day Boo woke up and discovered his cowboys on the side bumper of his crib. He was rather interested for a pretty good length of time. With all of the troubles that he has, it is sure fun when he discovers new things. He was blowing bubbles, and having a great time. My little boy...we are so blessed to have him in our lives!

More Hotel Pictures

When talking with different faithful readers of the blog...they stated they liked the pictures the best....so here are more pictures with very little words.

I think they speak for themselves anyway, right?

Mt Rushmores President View Resort

What a great evening! This hotel was fabulous! The first picture is of the front of the hotel where you drive to check in.

The next picture is hard to tell what it is, you could see it much more clearly in person. It is actually Mt. Rushmore! This hotel actually had rooms with private balconeys that you can see the great faces from! We will be staying in one in September (our anniversary is in August, but it is ralley week and we decided to wait until the rates go down for the off season!)

There are two pics that show views from our balconey! The hotel had a nice little patio area you could lounge on, and then the picture of the Black Hills. There is also a picture of our balconey. We sure enjoyed our stay! If anyone is ever looking for a hotel in Keystone...this one is a great one!

Hotel Stay

On Friday night we stayed in a great hotel. The Mt. Rushmore Presidents View Resort. We decided to get a Whirlpool Suite so that we could be in a "hot tub" and the kids could be sleeping. It was alot of fun...the first time we filled the whirlpool, we filled it with luke warm water so the kids could get in, we also added some bubbles!

As you can see here, the kids really enjoyed their time in the tub with daddy. Handsome asked me why I bothered putting swim suits on them, as we had the "little swimmers" but I thought it was important! Boo thought eating the bubbles was great fun, Princess wasn't so sure of the bubbles. It was more fun to watch them, than to sit in the tub! We also had a private balconey, and a great view of the Black Hills. We liked the hotel so much we booked a whirlpool suite with a view of Mt. Rushmore for our anniversary!

10 & 7 months ago.....

We were blessed! 10 months ago today we were driving to Houston Texas to meet our beautiful little princess! Our life is forever changed by her beauty! I cannot believe that it has already been 10 months, how quickly life changes. I know that it was a long road, but every single moment of it was worth it for our little girl!

7 months ago today our little prince was born, it would just take another 6 days to bring him into our life! But what a wonderful gift he has been.

We are so thankful the Lord has trusted us to raise these children for him. Princess and Boo are our little blessings!

Long Weekend!

This was the kids on Monday....tired!!! Cranky!!! My kids like there regular life, their schedule, and everything normal. They did their best to be happy to be home, but the lack of naps this past weekend really got to them about noon! Boo was so tired he just leaned over in the saucer, Princess just cried and cried in her bouncer! I LOVE BEING THEIR MAMA!

Missed Picture

Some how this picture disappeared from the last post.
I do want my brother to know, it was very hard for me to add another post after the one with the picture of him and I. It really is my fav pic of Farmer & myself ever!

Sunday the 22nd

Happy Birthday Pancakes!!!
Sunday morning all of us were moving a little slow. I had to wake the kids up for church, and they really like getting to sleep as long as they want! Boo had some how gotten his diaper off in the middle of the night....that was a smelly wet mess!

We also tried feeding Boo again, a week ago he couldn't swallow the food, this particular day he did so wonderful! He couldn't get enough. When sister wasn't eating her food, he just picked up and started where she left off.

We went to church with Handsome's parents in White. Mama and the kids spent most of Sunday School, and all of church in the nursery. We had to wake them both up to load them in the van after church.

We ate lunch with Handsome's folks, and before leaving, had to wake the kids up again! They sure were having a rough day!

After saying good bye to tem, we stopped by Handsome's brothers new house. They moved out of Sioux Falls and onto a place in the country. The kids are already enjoying the room to roam!

The trip home was a little on the difficult side. Princess didn't sleep again, and Boo only slept for a short time! They were really tired of being in their car seats by Mitchell! We did arrive home around 11. We put the kids to be quickly, and got ourselves into bed as soon as we could. We both had to wake up early, Handsome to go to work, and I was to get the kids ready and in the van to leave by 7:15 for Ethan's ultrasound.

The alarm didn't go off so we ended up waking up at 6:25! It was a quick morning of running around, but we were happy to get a phone call saying that our friends had their baby at 11 pm on Sunday night! A little boy! Congrats L&C! We are so happy for you!

Brother and Sister

It did steal the groom for just a second to get a picture. I think this could possibly be my favorite picture of Farmer and myself ever! It is a real smile on his face, and he doesn't always smile for pictures. I have heard reports of Farmer telling people on Saturday that it was the best day of his life! So glad to hear that! Many more to come bro! I have to say he is one of the most handsome guys, of course My Handsome gives him a strong run for the title though! I do have to admit my dad is looking pretty good these days as well. He got a haircut for the wedding, and he is dropping some inches. I think he is looking younger these days!

Anyway, I just had to share this picture with everyone, I am proud to be Farmer's big sister! Love you bunches Re Re!

Farmer gets a Wife 7-21-07

It was a beautiful day, hot, but beautiful. We arrived at the church at about 2 pm. Just in time to see my brother's best friend T show up for pictures. We didn't think he would be able to make it to the wedding at all, and he made it in time to get into his tux and be IN the wedding. I know that was very special for my brother! I wasn't able to get the best pictures of the wedding, but we did have some of the best seats in the church. We were the guest book attendants, so we were in the foyer until the wedding started. We decided with the children we probably should just stay back there. Handsome ended up taking care of the kids so that I could watch the entire ceremony with no interuptions...he is soooo sweet! The first picture is while Sandy was singing "How Beautiful" just after the lighting of the unity candle. The second picture is the exchanging of the rings. (I think Wife is putting Farmer's ring on.) The next picture is of Handsome feeding Boo before the wedding started. The fourth picture is of Pancames and Princess, can you tell mom is really excited about her son getting married?

The last picture is of Handsome with the kids during the wedding. He is the best daddy in the whole world! I also have another picture, but I couldn't get it on the blog, but it is of Aunt W with three of her grandchildren across from my husband. By the end of the wedding we had two of my cousin's wives, my aunt, my husband, and at least 8 children at the back of the church!

It was a beautiful day. The reception was great, Mom & Dad along with Wife's parents did something for the bride and groom that was pretty special. They had a DVD put together of pictures from the time they were babies, to their dating times, and ended with their engagement picture. M (T's girlfriend) put together some special music to go along with the pictures. It was very special. We didn't stay long after the supper was completed, with two children the rest of the evening wasn't really for them. We do wish Farmer & Wife a lifetime of happiness and blessings though!

Rehersal

This is the only picture I have from the rehersal that turned out. I do have to share that before rehersal we went to my parents farm and both the kids were able to have their first 4 wheeler ride. Can you imagine that with Pancakes and Mama around we didn't manage to get a picture of either of them? I can't believe we missed that!

This picture is of Princess going on about 13 hours with no sleep. We did have a good time though. We went to the Groom's supper and both kids did really well.

After the supper, we went out the Lake Benton Lake where my mom's sisters and families were camping. The kids fell asleep right away. The fire was alot of fun. Farmer and His Wife showed up, Farmer was wearing a shirt that said "Will trade wife for tractor." He didn't have a wife yet! Of course there was a John Deere logo under the saying!
Handsome, myself, and the kids were all happy to get into bed and sleep once we arrived at Handsome's parents house.

Trip

This past weekend was my brother's wedding. The kids didn't travel as well as we would have liked them to! We started out at 5:30 Friday morning, and arrived to Brookings about noon. Boo slept, but Princess never did. We only stopped one time! We were pretty happy about that. We were able to spend some time with Handsome's parents before heading out to the farm.

Very Tired!

Sundays are always big days at our house. These pictures of the kids are proof! Handsome is usually the most tired at the end of the day, as he gets up the earliest, studies for a while, prints the church bulletins & prayer lists, makes sure the church is ready, gets himself ready, and makes sure I am up and going in time. I only have to get myself ready and then pack the diaper bag and dress the kids. All of this happens before Sunday School starts at 9:30!
Handsome teaches Sunday School
then he goes on to preach for the morning worship service. We usually either do something simple, or run to McDonalds for luch. We come home in hopes of getting the kids to take a nap at the same time so we can MAYBE have a nap ourselves.
This particular Sunday, we were able to have a little one before having to get ready and meet up with some friends. We spent a few hours with friends, and then we went out for a weekly date around 8:45 pm! The kids were starting to go down hill, but we did manage to pull everyone together so Mama & Daddy could enjoy their meal for an hour! Once we arrived back home, we were able to get Princess into PJ's, but Boo was just too tired, he slept in his clothes. We couldn't help but take a picture, Boo doesn't sleep with his behind sticking in the air often, but it sure is cute when he does! As you can see, with Princess, she just stretches out and goes to sleep! What a day!

First Horse Ride

On Saturday one of Handsome's co-workers, also friends, invited us to his house for supper. They live near Deadwood, very close to the Roo Ranch. It is an absolutely beautiful place, they also have three horses. Jr, Rosie, and Annie. His wife found out how much I love horses so after supper we saddled up Rosie and Annie and went for a ride. The guys looked at some of his different projects around the place. Once we finished, we asked the guys to bring the kids down and they were able to have their first ride. They both really seemed to enjoy it. Boo really liked it, even though he wasn't feeling very well that night.
The first picture is of Jr. He is a mustang and was really good at getting people's attention. The next picture is of Mommy and Princess on Annie, an arabian. That is the horse I rode most of the time. There is a few pictures of Handsome on Annie with Boo, and I on Rosie. It was a great time. I had forgotten my camera, so they were nice enough to take some pictures and get them to us. We had a very enjoyable time. She said I can come back and ride with her any time! Yeah, I am excited!

Almost Swimming

Mom got the swimming pool all ready on Saturday, but we had some visitors stop in and the day slipped away. The kids were all dressed in their swimming suits and everything. So we decided to keep it up and we would have this kids swim Sunday afternoon, that didn't happen either. So, the pool was dumped out and we will hope to use it next time! It would have been a great day for it, at around 100 degrees outside.

Bad Hair Day!

It is too funny how Princess looks when she gets out of bed. I just really cannot help but take pictures of her. She really enjoys the camera now, and is happy to smile or laugh. She is just too much fun.

Brothers Hat!

July 10th ~ Farmers birthday! On this particular day, Princess was thinking everything in her sight was hers, particularily her brother's hat. She just kept taking it off of his head! I thought it was funny, Daddy thought it was cute enough to get out the camera! So here she is cheezin it up. She cracks me up often!

Boo Boo Update

Boo has really not been feeling well these last few days. Friday night he was very uncomfortable and turned an ashen gray color. Yesterday I didn't go to church because we were having some troubles. Boo was very white and very sick. Handsome & I actually ended up taking him the to Emergency Room. They told us there was nothing they could do for us and to just wait on the tests results from last week. Every doctor that sees him knows there is something wrong with him, but they do not know what to do about it. Yesterday he had a fever, was not keeping anything down, and slept alot! I just got his blood work and MRI results and everything came back normal. Please keep him in your prayers, we are trying very hard to find answers so we can start helping him!

Saturday the 7th

Grandpa & Grandma went home. We were very sad about this, as we were hoping that they were going to be able to stay until Sunday! After they left we all just spent a lazy day at home. We ate lunch, took naps, watched a movie, and went to bed! I really couldn't believe I actually was able to talk Handsome into it, but he really did take it easy! It was about 110 degrees outside though!

Princess and Boo enjoyed playing together, and B took two long naps so we didn't get to spend a ton of time with her on her last full day with us!

Friday July 6th

On Friday Dad went to work with Handsome to see what happens at Spearfish Electric. While my mom, myself, and the kids stayed home. Grandma had brought bubbles for the girls, and we had a fun time playing with them (I think that Grandma might have had the most fun!) When the guys got home from work they cleaned up and we went to do some tourist things in Deadwood. We also had supper at a really good buffet there! It was alot of fun, unfortunately, I forgot my camera again! But we took pictures of Daddy & Boo, and Grandpa & Princess and how tired everyone was when we got home!

Mount Rushmore July 5th 2007

On Thursday we went to Mt Rushmore. Mom and Dad learned why I have a diffiicult time getting things finished, as it took us until 3 PM to get there and we started getting ready when we woke up! We only live 65 miles from Rushmore!!!!! The kids will not remember their first look at the faces, but we have pictures to help them! We were very thankful for the double stroller and the single, it was very hot that day and B wouldn't have been able to walk, and we wouldn't have wanted to carry the kids all over! We were sad that Daddy didn't get to join us, but we did have Grandma & Grandpa to help!
