Daily Verse

Sunday~
"How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from you commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Psalm 119:9-11

Why do we try to conform God to our will? Live in His word and know true joy.

Monday~
"Make me to know your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old."
Psalm 25:4-6

God reveals the truth of our time and all time to us through Scripture.

Tuesday~
"The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the tstimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple: the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the LORD are true, and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb."
Psalm 19:7-10

All the laws in all the books in all the libraries of the world are but a footnote to the law of God.

Wednesday~
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways ackowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
Proverbs 3:5-6

To know and understand God comes not through our intellect, but through the wisdom given to us by the grace of God.

Thursday~
"My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart."
Proverbs 3:1-3

Don't measure success by society's standards. Use Christ as your measuring stick.

Friday~
"The the LORD answered Job our of the whirlwind and said: 'Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding, Who determined its measurements - surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? Or who laid its cornerstond...?'"
Job 38:1, 4-6

When we measure God by our limited standards, we attempt to measure the elephant by weighing one strand of its hair.

Saturaday~
"Philip said to him, 'Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.' Jesus said to him, 'Have I been with you so lon, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, Show us the Father?'"
John 14:8-9

Christ is God made flesh. If you want to know God, you must draw closer to Jesus.

1st Meal

On the 27th of May Princess turned 8 months and Boo turned 5 months. We decided to try and give Boo his first taste of cereal. Princess started when she was 3 1/2 months old and she was probably ready before then. Boo had been showing the signs of being ready, but once Daddy put that spoon in his mouth he prooved that he didn't think he was ready for the "big boy" stuff! Handsome did manage to get the entire bowl down (mostly down is chest) but some did get swallowed. What interesting times babies bring into your house!

Sibling Love

I have to say that I think it is adorable that my daughter loves my son this much! I know that Boo doesn't look very happy in this picture, but he just woke up and then Mommy goes and starts taking pictures of him...how RUDE! He really does love his sister....REALLY!

Sophie Autumn Droher

I just received these pictures of my niece about 10 minutes ago and wanted to share them. SA was 4 pounds 13 oz when she was born on May 12th. I am very excited to get to meet her this weekend! (Also excited to get to see her parents.)

Family Reunion

I grew up knowing how important family was. The day of my Grandpa's funeral was a wonderful day. It was difficult, because I now have to wait until I get to heaven before I see him again, but at the same time it was glorious! First of all, we all know how much Grandpa was wanting to see Grandma again. On top of seeing her, of course, was seeing his Savior. When all of his friends and family gathered togeter on that Saturday, there was a great family gathering. Isn't it sad how it takes a funeral to get everyone together? We were able to see many people that we had not seen for a while. Some of the people that I was really glad to see were the A Family, Mrs. Sharon A, J & L A, and S A (mom, two sons & daughter-in-law). The As have always been special people to our family, Mr. Wayne A was my Grandpa & Grandma's preacher for some time in the 80's. I was about 5, and considered J one of my best friends (he was a senior in high school at the time.) Anyway, somewhere in there, I have been told, that I was sharing with the world that I was going to marry J...things didn't work out that way. I did get to be in his wedding 14 years ago, and that was the last time I saw the As. They really made a difference in my life, and I am thankful to the entire family for teaching me some of the most important things that I have learned in life.

This picture is obviously not of the As. It is of my family though, I just thought it was a special picture and wanted to share it. My brother and his fiance, with Handsome, myself, and our children.

Rocking Chair

One of those proud moments in time is when you can see your own children enjoying something that you loved as a child. Just the other day I was able to experience this. Princess was sitting in the little rocking chair that my Grandparents gave to me when I was to young to even remember. She was sitting in it like she was a big girl and laughing away! What a joy it is to be a parent!

Wonderful Husband, Awesome Daddy

I have not devoted a post to my wonderful husband! I cannot believe it, have been doing this for a month now a mentioned him only a few times. So now is the time. Handsome is a great guy who has made me a better person. He is the pastor of our church, and also an electrican here in town. He is probably one of the hardest workers that I know. Even when he is tired he pushes and gets his work done! He does a wonderful job of keeping all things juggled and balancing all the different "hats" he has to wear. If you want to see him smile, just ask him about either of our children. He is such a good Daddy. Just last night we were playing with Princess on the floor and he can get her to giggle far better than I (or anyone for that matter) ever could! This picture speaks for itself, any chance he gets he spends with the children and they love every minute of it. I am so thankful for such a wonderful, godly man!

The Move

LIfe has been rough for the last week or so. We are in the middle of a move, and with two small children it hasn't been easy. This picture shows how much Princess has loved it! She is in her excersaucer (which she usually loves) and is just beside herself because she hasn't been sleeping very well. I guess she doesn't love her new room as much as we thought she would. She has the same crib, same bedding, and the same toys in the crib with her, but the room is different and she doesn't like spending any time in there. We keep trying none the less. What craziness it has been! Boo has done better than his sister, but also has been having some troubles with his new room. However, he loves his new bed. He had been sleeping in a craddle so far, because we didn't have room for a full size crib. Now that he is in a regular crib he is a happy camper, and rolls over and wiggles all over the crib. We never know what we will find when we check on him!

As much as you would think a family of four (plus two dogs) would LOVE to be out of the basement we lived in for over a year, we are not as excited about the piles of boxes all over the new house that just don't seem to be going away as fast as we would like. I do have to say that moving was much easier before children! It is funny that we have only had children for just under 8 months now, but almost half of our belongings are related to being parents of infants. Especially since we need two of almost everything. !

We are working as hard as we can to get the boxes out of the house and the contents of them where they ought to be. Will keep you posted!

Nieces

I am excited to annouce that we have two new nieces on Handsome's side. I do not have any pictures yet, but once I do I will be posting some! SA was born Saturday the 12th to Handsome's sister & husband; she was 4 lbs 13 oz and KH was born Wednesday the 16th to Handsome's brother & wife; she was 7 lbs 5 oz. Both Mama's and Babies had to stay in the hostpital for a little while, but as far as I know all should be out by now and doing pretty well. SA & Mommy were there to recover from emergency c-section, KH stayed due to a touch of jaundice and Mama stayed to be with her. We are very excited, this brings the total H cousins up to 8! We have added 4 in the last 8 months! (That is if you include Boo.)

Just really needed to share that news. Now we are just excited to see two of our friends out here have their first little ones. One due in July, and one I just found out about so I am not sure of the due date. We just love babies!

Princess

I thought it was about time to officially introduce our children. This is Princess, she was born on September 27th, 2006! What a wonderful suprize she was too. Just two days before she was born we had no idea we were going to be parents. With less than 24 hours notice before her birth, we took off on a 26 hour drive to welcome her into our hearts and lives! She is named after two Grandmothers; my dad's mother, and Handsome's dad's mother. She is pretty special! She is a strong little girl, strong willed too! I think she is going to give us a run for or money! As of March 30th of this year, the State of South Dakota has granted our petition for adopting her into our family forever. We are so thankful that God has given her to us to raise for Him! She is full of many laughs. She is usually quick to smile for you, and she really enjoys all the love and attention that she gets from family and friends. In this picture taken just a week and a half ago, Mrs. K let Princess play with her beads during church. Of course we couldn't let this event go on without a picture! We keep the picture place very busy with all of the pictures that we take.

Princess is going to be 8 months old here in a short while, she is starting to discover many new things every single day. She is very attached to her Daddy, and to her little brother Boo. But if there are any babies around, she will spot them! She also loves dogs, especially our Meshach (will introduce him at a later date.) If you ever want a reason to smile, watch Princess for just a few moments and she will bring one!

Boo Boo

I think it is about time that I officially introduce our children! This is Boo Boo. He was born December 27th, 2006! Exactly 3 months after our daughter. He came to our home as of January 2nd, after I went to the hospital to to pick him up from the nursery there. He has been a blessing since he arrived at our home. We would love to adopt him if that is ever a possibility. But at the moment we think of each day with him as a gift. He just started passing out smiles by the dozen. What fun it is to have babies in the house! This picture of him is at my cousins house just last week. We really liked their swing! He is also really happy because of all the time he was able to spend with Pancakes! He had many people to love on him over the last few weeks. But there was nothing more special than when he saw Daddy on Friday night after being away from him for a week! He was happy! Boo is a blessing, we love him very much!

Grandma's Visit

Here it is two weeks since I started this crazy thing and entering only for the second time! April 30th my mother (Pancakes) came to stay with us for a week. We were looking forward to this very much. The kids really enjoyed this time, as did Handsome & I. The week went by so quickly, but it was filled with so many fun things! When Pancakes arrived we had to go to a doctor appointment for Boo right away. Tuesday she helped me get caught up with a few things around the house. Wednesday we drove to Belle Fourche to look at the house we have for sale and do a little shopping....we barely made it back in time for church! Thursday we went for a girls day in Rapid City shopping. Poor Boo, he has to just put up with it for now! Friday we spend much of the day getting ready for the Mother's Day Tea that our church was hosting. Saturday morning we were doing last minute details for the tea, and Saturday afternoon the event finally took place. We had much fun, but when it was all over I realized that my mother would be going home soon. Sunday morning bright and early we were all saying goodbye to eachother when my dad called. My Grandpa was not doing very well. Instead of saying goodbye to mom, it turned out that her, the kids, and I were leaving Handsome instead. So Pancakes week with the kids ended up being one week in here and an extra week at her house!
