Daily Verse

Sunday~
"How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from you commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Psalm 119:9-11

Why do we try to conform God to our will? Live in His word and know true joy.

Monday~
"Make me to know your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old."
Psalm 25:4-6

God reveals the truth of our time and all time to us through Scripture.

Tuesday~
"The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the tstimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple: the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the LORD are true, and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb."
Psalm 19:7-10

All the laws in all the books in all the libraries of the world are but a footnote to the law of God.

Wednesday~
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways ackowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
Proverbs 3:5-6

To know and understand God comes not through our intellect, but through the wisdom given to us by the grace of God.

Thursday~
"My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart."
Proverbs 3:1-3

Don't measure success by society's standards. Use Christ as your measuring stick.

Friday~
"The the LORD answered Job our of the whirlwind and said: 'Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding, Who determined its measurements - surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? Or who laid its cornerstond...?'"
Job 38:1, 4-6

When we measure God by our limited standards, we attempt to measure the elephant by weighing one strand of its hair.

Saturaday~
"Philip said to him, 'Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.' Jesus said to him, 'Have I been with you so lon, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, Show us the Father?'"
John 14:8-9

Christ is God made flesh. If you want to know God, you must draw closer to Jesus.

Interesting email...

I received this interesting email today that is a good one. I don't normally pass on anything I receive via email, infact if it says "fwd." in the title I usually delete it. Anyway, this one came from Pastor and/or Patty Holmes from Huron. Enjoy!

A friend sent this to me. It's been said that God first separated the salt water from the fresh, made dry land, planted a garden, made animals and fish... All before making a human. He made and provided what we'd need before we were born. These are best & more powerful when eaten raw. We're such slow learners...God left us a great clue as to what foods help what part of our body! God's Pharmacy! Amazing!
~A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye.. And YES, science now shows carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.
~ A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart has four chambers and is red. All of the research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood food.
~Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food. ~A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help develop more than three (3) dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.
~Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.
~Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and many more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, thus making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.
~Avocadoes, Eggplant and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly nine (9) months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of n nutrition in each one of these foods (Modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).
~Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well to overcome male sterility.
~Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.
~Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries
~Oranges, Grapefruits, and other Citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.
~Onions look like the body's cells. Today's research shows onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes. ~A working companion, Garlic, also helps eliminate waste materials and dangerous free radicals from the body.

Psalm 46:19, 'Be Still and Know that I AM GOD'

Beautiful Flowers

Just a little bit ago there was a knock at my door and this is what I found...well they were in bunches and I "dressed" them and arranged them and look how beautiful they are! There is this wonderful family in our church who think of all these wonderful ways to encourage their Pastor and family and I would have never thought of sending flowers to someone for their son's adoption! Thank you so much! She is also making Sunshine's cake and I cannot wait to see what she has up her sleeve. I gave her a napkin from the party deco and told her that I trusted her and couldn't wait to see what she came up with! There will be pictures for sure! Anyway, enjoy the beautiful roses as much as I do...the pictures do not do them justice. There are all sorts of different colors in them: reds, peaches, yellows and all combos of each!
Also notice the cute little picture of my brother and Christy peeking around the vase!

Bear Counrty

When my parents came for the 4th we went to Bear Country. Jason and I had been there last fall and I LOVED it. I think Mom REALLY like it...you'll have to ask dad if he did or not. All he said was, "It's alright."
I was trying to get AG while she was showing Daddy how to sign Raccoon!

Update

We are still on schedule to finalize Ethan's adoption THIS FRIDAY AUGUST 1ST!!! We are so excited! Why not throw a little adventure into the mix. Our parents and my sister-in-law Christy (and maybe Zachary) are coming on Thursday evening and our carpet and linoleum are to be laid on Thursday! I have informed both Mom's that they will have to "help us carry their beds in" when they arrive! What a crazy time we have. I asked Jason why NONE of our projects can be done when we do not have a CRAZY deadline. Some day maybe that will be the case, but for now...pressing on!

Back on the Adoption front, E's hearing is at 11:30 in Deadwood and we invite any and all of you to join us in the court room to witness this WONDERFUL event! We will then have an open house at our home immediately following. There will be cake, punch, sandwiches, SPECIAL water that my mom has ordered (the water itself isn't special, but the bottles will be!), and whatever else I come up with in between. There has been talk that one of the ladies in the church may be making her YUMMY potato salad as well! The open house goes until 5:30 or so and at 6 we will be continuing the celebration at Guadalajaras (my favorite restaurant!)

Please join us...at least in prayer!

Humbracht Cabin, 4th of July

For those of you that are around us or chat with us often, there are very few weeks that go by that we do not have some sort of contact with the Humbracht family. They are our West River family and have become very special to us. You will remember that we went with them to cut down our Christmas Tree last year, and we have spent the last two years with them for Easter. Anyway, we were invited to go up to their cabin for the 4th and so after the parade and our time at the Kelloggs, we drove up to the cabin. When one of the children wants to sit with Mommy, the other one wants to as well!
The kids enjoying unwrapping the balls from this game.
Again...
Ada Grace enjoyed the swing...she ALWAYS wants to swing!
Check out that smile!
Not sure what was going on here, but Grandma sure captured something!
Ethan thought this football was great. Maybe we have a future player on our hands!
He carried it around for such a long time!
We were trying to capture a great picture here, Ethan, as usual, wasn't going to let it happen!
Hanging out with Daddy. The kids enjoyed their time with Daddy and my parents over the long weekend!

July 4th festivities!

We first went to the Belle Fourche Parade and the kids seemed to enjoy it. The fire trucks and police cars were a little loud for them, but they were happy none the less.
Daddy showing the kids how to wave their flags!
Looking on as the next float comes up the street.
Ada Grace got into picking up the candy...which we gave to the family next to us before we left!
I just think she is SO beautiful!

I do believe this is my son being a stinker...pretty sure! Cute though!

Mommy Moments

There are no pictures to share with this post. I was too busy enjoying my daughter to take pictures!

Tonight we had kind of a crazy out of sorts night. Jason was busy working on the sheetrock so the mud and taper could come on Wednesday and Ethan went to bed VERY early. That leaves Ada Grace and Mommy!

I didn't know how it would go because lately she had been Miss Independant. It was WONDERFUL! With Ethan coming only 3 months after Ada Grace, there have not been very many times that I have been able to spend 1 on 1 time with either of my kids. For my sanity I have put them down for naps and put them to bed at the same time.

Ada Grace and I had the most wonderful evening. We watched HGTV together and just played and giggled ALOT! I cannot remember having a more wonderful time as a Mommy. I mean, sure, the every day life is wonderful YOU ALL KNOW I LOVE BEING A MOMMY. But with two so close together there is not many moments I can look back and say "that was when Ethan and I did..." or "Oh, Ada Grace and I went here..." I had re-energized me as a mother. I encourage my blogging friend from The Chambers Family Blog that this is something to make sure to do as you are looking at adding number 2 & 3 to your family! For some reason 1 on 1 time has not been something I have thought about before tonight! It will have to be something I work toward doing at least once a week with each of my wonderful children!

I thank God for the little blessings that turn out to be BIG memories!

Our Niece Sophie...

As I do every Sunday night I checked to see if there were any new pictures of our beautiful niece, Sophie Autumn...THERE WERE! I get so excited when we get to see new pictures since we do not get to see her that often. This is Jason's sister Melissa and her daughter Sophie.
Sophie playing...isn't she beautiful!
Cannot wait until next month when we get to see her for real! We miss you Eric & Melissa!

I did it!

I have tried a few things with yeast here and there and could never get something to turn out. HOWEVER, after being in Chicago with Aunt Wendy and getting the recipe for Carmel rolls...I decided it was time to try it. SO, I am so excited because it seems that I will be able to pass on a Norgaard tradition to my daughter. Now if only I could master the lefse.

Music...

Please excuse the constant changing of the music these days. Apparently the site I get the music from is losing some of its songs and gaining new ones. I am not changing the songs that quickly on my play list...they said it could happen for anywhere up to two weeks.

Bell Fourche Rodeo, July 3rd

Getting ready to leave for the Rodeo on July 3rd.
Eating a little snack while we wait for the Rodeo to start.
There were very few people that actually made it hte 8 seconds...and actually there was only one guy that made the time on the bull riding.
A girls ranch from California did all sorts of tricks on their horses, I will have to try and get some of the videos I took up so you can see. It was pretty good!
This horse did a summersalt while his cowboy was stilling riding!
Ada Grace watching carefully, she didn't want to miss a thing!
Entertaining our friends behind us...so glad we were able to sit with Levi, Katie, and Katie's parents!
Standing on Mommy's lap so she can see better!
Ethan after the rodeo wearing his sissy's hat!

I LOVE THIS PICTURE OF ETHAN AND JASON! Both watching the rodeo...
Levi wasn't so impressed that I was taking a picture of him and Ethan...but Ethan spent most of the rodeo on Levi's lap. That was E's choice...could have had Grandma, Grandpa, Mommy, and Daddy...but he picked Levi!!!
Katie's parents bought popcorn to share with the kids and they LOVED it!
Being silly after we got home from the rodeo!
I think this picture is too cute.
Can you read his lips? "HAT" That boy just loves his hat!
