Daily Verse

"How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from you commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Psalm 119:9-11

Why do we try to conform God to our will? Live in His word and know true joy.

"Make me to know your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old."
Psalm 25:4-6

God reveals the truth of our time and all time to us through Scripture.

"The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the tstimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple: the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the LORD are true, and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb."
Psalm 19:7-10

All the laws in all the books in all the libraries of the world are but a footnote to the law of God.

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways ackowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
Proverbs 3:5-6

To know and understand God comes not through our intellect, but through the wisdom given to us by the grace of God.

"My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart."
Proverbs 3:1-3

Don't measure success by society's standards. Use Christ as your measuring stick.

"The the LORD answered Job our of the whirlwind and said: 'Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding, Who determined its measurements - surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? Or who laid its cornerstond...?'"
Job 38:1, 4-6

When we measure God by our limited standards, we attempt to measure the elephant by weighing one strand of its hair.

"Philip said to him, 'Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.' Jesus said to him, 'Have I been with you so lon, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, Show us the Father?'"
John 14:8-9

Christ is God made flesh. If you want to know God, you must draw closer to Jesus.

20 and 23 months!

WARNING: No pictures and Blogger isn't letting me upload them at the moment...maybe later!

So yesterday came and went and I didn't get a chance to point out that it was my kids birthday! Ethan is now 20 months old and Ada Grace is now 23 months old! It is hard to believe that in less than a month my baby girl will be 2 years old! WOW!

She is growing and learning every day. She is trying to carry on conversations with me now, "helping" her brother know what is right and wrong, walking up steps and sometimes not even holding the rail, jumping, running, starting to understand the whole potty thing, putting on "shows", and remembering people. She really is working on connecting things or people together as well!

A few of her hang ups would have to be: FOOD, a little too much drama, wanting to be in the center of every one's attention, trying to Mommy her brother, and thinking she is too big for naps!

Ethan is also growing and learning every day. He is starting to try to jump, dance, and do pretty much everything Ada Grace does (or at least give it his best shot!) He also is really picking up on the sign language (finally!) He is still Mommy's snuggles, and loves to rough house with Daddy. He has "favorite" people that he opens up to ~ usually people that are around the most. And he is happy to join in on Sissy's "shows" when other people are around.

A few of his hang ups would have to be: he doesn't like the word NO, no being able to stand up to AG, looks for trouble in every corner, likes to empty to toy box for no reason, climbs on everything, and doesn't really care what Mama says is off limits!

In spite of their hang ups...which some of them are cute at this age...BUT, as Barney Fife would say you have to, "Nip it in the Bud!" I really have two of the best kids in the world...I am thankful to God every day for them and love being their Mommy! They are great!

Sunday Evening

On Sunday Evening while Jason and I were sitting in the living room it all of a sudden looked to be a very pretty, almost pink, color outside. I grabbed my new camera (I love it) and ran out and got some really neat pictures of the sky. None of these have been altered...this is truely what the sky looked like that night!

I love how there was a "V" shaped cloud in front of the sun that made the pretty colors on these clouds from where the suns shadow was!

I also snapped a few pictures of our roses. Now that they have over come the over spray from the yard (we have talked to the people that do it and it should not be happening again) they are really going to town again. My climber is way over my head now, and we only lost one rose bush of the 18 in the over spray accident.
My purple rose with a little rain on it...

And then after the boys went to bed, AG and I spent some time together, just the fun was that? Well, AG was wound up that night and just was a hoot to be usual!

A little encouragement...

It has come to my attention today that I have not been the most "up beat" person to be around for the last week or so. It seems that I have allowed Satan to get a foot hold on one of the things that is most on my heart lately. I have been praying very fervently that the Lord would allow us to add to our family in the near future, and most specifically I have been praying for multiples (twins, triplets, etc). I AM NOT POSTING THAT WE ARE HAVING A BABY...but I am sharing a piece of my heart. Some days are so much easier than others but when it comes to certain times of the year I get a little more "down" than I should. Last Wednesday was the -birthday- of our second baby, a baby that I have to wait until eternity to meet. But you see the encouragement comes when I take my thoughts of myself and put them where they should be, on God. Something I can be thankful for is that I know for sure that I will meet that baby, and the other 3 in heaven because God's Word shows us how we can know for 100% sure that we will spend eternity in heaven with Him. I have trusted Christ with all my heart and He is my personal Savior. I will be in heaven one day...what a wonderful thought that is!

Another thing that I am oh so thankful for is the wonderful children God has allowed us to have...Ada Grace and Ethan are far more than any parent could ever ask for...I had a Grandma, and not my mom or Jason's, tell me today that I had the cutest kids ever! I know that I should have been polite and said, "Thank You" but I didn't! Instead I responded with a prompt, "I know, aren't they though?" Now I know that some may dispute this fact, but in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter if you agree that my children are the cutest ever...WE HAVE CHILDREN! That is all that really matters. It is so precious to see AG and E learning Sunday School songs like "Jesus Loves Me" and "This Little Light of Mine" and attempting to sing them on their own here and there. It is also so fun to see the children close their eyes and AG folds her hands and listen as the adults in their life pray. Do you know how we know that they listen...because they always beat us to the AMEN! We close our prayer with "In Jesus Name, Amen" and when the hear the first part they are very good about closing the prayer. That is a blessing that any mother could appreciate.

Another blessing is seeing my children loving others. AG has gotten names down for several people around us and she will ask about them in her choppy almost 2 year old vocabulary. On the way to the chiropractor the other day she said, "Mommy, Davis, okay? Mmm Hm." She was saying "Mommy, are Mr. & Mrs. Davis doing okay? Uhh Huh!" You can see little things here and there in AG particularly [Ethan is coming around a little slower] where they have a true concern for someone.

So this is just a little reminder for everyone to look at the little things in life. Sure, we all have discouragements that we face every single day...but we can always look to find a blessing through them! I was discouraged about the fact that my Heavenly Father chose to take our 4 babies before we could even know them...but when I realized how blessed I am with the 2 children I do know and the fact that I will one day meet the babies...there really isn't anything to be discouraged about.

Please remember...Jesus died on the cross for everyone, He has washed away our sins and now all that is left is for us to put our trust in Him. Do you know Jesus as your personal Savior...I am so thankful that my Aunt and Uncle aided me in understanding this simple truth so many years ago!

"That is thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9 & 10

It's your birthday...a little late!

I want to wish Kristi Flinck a happy was the 24th and I missed it! Sorry...hope you had a wonderful day!

Cool Deadwood Nights, our 2nd Year!

Last year Mom was here for Cook Deadwood Nights, on one of her trips out here to be here for Bubba (Ethan) because he was REALLY SICK! Anyway, while looking for something to do that Saturday, Jason suggested going to Deadwood to look at old cars. Wasn't sure it was going to be that great, but it was kind of fun...anything with mom is fun!
Mom and Dad talked about coming out this year, but could not make it. Jason, myself, and the kiddos loaded up in the suberban and drove to Deadwood. On the way there I could not resist taking some pictures of our beautiful blue sky, it is unlike any other place I have ever seen before!
The kids riding while Mommy and Daddy drool over some of their top picks!
This was Jason's choice...a Cadilac, I don't remember what year

This was my choice, a Chevy Impala, again...I don't remember what year!

It was lots of fun and we hope some of you can join us next year!

More Ada Grace and Puppies

It wouldn't let me add these to the last post, but I was able to make a new post for them!

AG and all 5 puppies...
She is always asking, "Puppies, wap?!?" AG translation: Can I put a puppy on my lap?
Get down and check them out AG!
She really does like them...
Carlotta is AG's best friend and follows her around whenever she gets the chance. AG isn't so sure about this! In this picture it may look AG is smiling, but she is very worried about Carlotta following her!

Cruella and Clarabelle

This is our little Carlotta...she is the most adventurous and AG's best bud!
This is our little Cruella, she is the smallest and she likes Carlotta the best
Cleo is still working on her personality
Calrabelle is the mellow one, but also the biggest!
Chip, the only boy, gets picked on my his sisters and loves the little boy in our church named Guy
After playing with the puppies AG and I sat outside on our patio and she was a hoot and a half!

This would be the last dry picture of AG for the evening!
Hope I can just add the other pictures from AG and the puppies play time in another post...
