So we are having a VERY nice day today, considering the beginning of this week brought us 6+ inches of snow! There was even still some snow falling yesterday....but today, well that is a different story! We are creeping up on 70, the sun is shining, the very beautiful especially blue sky I love about this place is filled with happy puffy clouds, the birds are finding worms in the warm still wet ground so they are happy too! Actually lots of critters are 'out and about' taking in this nice day...including this little guy:
I stepped out our back door to pull some of those lovely yellow flowers that are also making an apperance and here he was....just hanging out waiting to see what I was going to do. Now please know that me being me, I was rather happy to see this guy! Growing up on a farm I actually played with these guys, would have 'races' with the neighbor to see who could catch the most in a 5 gallon bucket and then we would go to our bridge and dump them all into the water and watch them scurry away! I know demented....BUT, me being marriged to the Handsome that I am who will not kill a spider because he would rather believe they do not exsist than touch one...yea, I get snake, spider, and mouse (thankfully we only had those in one house have lived in) duty around here! Anyway, I decided I wanted to make him proud, so I grabbed the first weapon like thing I could and went on the chase...apparently they are much more willing to be caught by a friendly person with a bucket than with a crazy person with a large board! lol...I was defeated, and not terribly sorry about it! So rather than make my husband proud by killing the little fella I texted him this picture and all it said was, "HELLO!"
I might remind him that because this dude was allowed to live, many a spider will not be...
ENJOY THE BEAUTIFUL WEATHER!

Yuck! That thing looks deadly.
You guys sound like me and my husband, who prefers to catch critters in a jar and set them free in the woods while I squirm over the yuckiness. :D Just set that thing free in someone elses yard. :D
