Daily Verse

Sunday~
"How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from you commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Psalm 119:9-11

Why do we try to conform God to our will? Live in His word and know true joy.

Monday~
"Make me to know your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old."
Psalm 25:4-6

God reveals the truth of our time and all time to us through Scripture.

Tuesday~
"The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the tstimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple: the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the LORD are true, and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb."
Psalm 19:7-10

All the laws in all the books in all the libraries of the world are but a footnote to the law of God.

Wednesday~
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways ackowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
Proverbs 3:5-6

To know and understand God comes not through our intellect, but through the wisdom given to us by the grace of God.

Thursday~
"My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart."
Proverbs 3:1-3

Don't measure success by society's standards. Use Christ as your measuring stick.

Friday~
"The the LORD answered Job our of the whirlwind and said: 'Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding, Who determined its measurements - surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? Or who laid its cornerstond...?'"
Job 38:1, 4-6

When we measure God by our limited standards, we attempt to measure the elephant by weighing one strand of its hair.

Saturaday~
"Philip said to him, 'Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.' Jesus said to him, 'Have I been with you so lon, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, Show us the Father?'"
John 14:8-9

Christ is God made flesh. If you want to know God, you must draw closer to Jesus.

Thankful Thursday

So I had my first "me" day since I was a Mommy last week. Friday the kids and I had a date in the morning and we were able to have a special breakfast, then go to the park and spend some time without rushing. Then after their early naps a dear friend watched the kids until Handsome got off work. So I had from 1:30 until 9 all to myself. What did I do with my time? SHOP! Not really shopping, but looking...but it was fun to not have to rush out of a store because we needed to change a stinky diaper or because the kids were getting to meltdown-time-for-nap stage. I also got my first pedicure and wow...it was great. I am hoping to maybe to one every month or every other month! It was hard to step out of my hot pink toe nail polish box, but I managed and picked a very pretty spiced pumpkin fall tone!

Saturday we were able to have Daddy/son & Mommy/daughter time in the morning. The boys went to look at the mustangs in the mustang rally and us girls took our time getting ready and went to the Princess' fav restaurant for a brunch. The kids then were able to take a little nap and Handsome & I just hung out and did a few things around. That evening he took us to Chinese (I have been craving it for a while.) We hadn't eaten Chinese in over a year, so there many "what's this" and "can I try that" comments being made with the kids. Boo loved the food and couldn't get enough...Princess, not so much! After that we decided it was a BEAUTIFUL night so we were going to go for a 'little walk' {no walk with my husband is little} and we were able to see a classic mini doxie that was playing the catch me if you can game with her owner and we just had alot of fun. We then stopped by the same dear friends house that watched the kids for us the day before do drop something off and ended up sticking around there for over an hour! What a blessed day it was!

Sunday we had church and did our traditional Sunday lunch at our favorite Mexican place in town. They have .99 kids meals on Sunday and Handsome and I share a meal so we eat cheaper than I could make something at home! We all were able to take short naps on Sunday...then we watched two movies...the first was a waste of our time, the second was MUCH better!

Monday we decided to take the kids to a fairly local free kids attraction that I had been wanting to get to all summer. Labor Day was their final regular season day for the year and the kids LOVED it! They have all these different characters that kids like, someDisney and some others plus a little barrel train the kids can ride for $1...I think that was their favorite part. Although they have been talking about Jack having an owie on his head alot since then..."Jack & Jill" After this we did our Christmas shopping and got that all done and just looked...probably the best day we have had as a family for a long time!

All around the best weekend I have enjoyed for the longest of time! I am truly thankful for the wonderful family that God has blessed me with and cannot wait until we get to spend more time together...it was wonderful, for this I am thankful!
