Margaret is still in Brookings and will be having surgery tomorrow to remove her port that was put in for her chemo treatments about 2 years ago. It is a very risky surgery and the doctor has told them to get the funeral in order, just in case. Her surgery is a little after noon, we will be sticking around until to wakes up, it should be about a half hour procedure. As long as all goes well we will be returning home tomorrow.

A little break...
Please forgive me, but there will be no more posts until next Tuesday. We are leaving early in the morning for Sioux Falls for Ethan's doctor appointments. Please keep him in your prayers, we have hopes that this doctor will see the need and help Ethan. Will post next week with what we find out.

Hello My Name Is...
Hello my name is Ashley Jene and I thought I better reintroduce myself to all of you! I am sorry that my blogging has tappered off, it has been a while. Life just gets crazy with so many people under one roof! Please remember us this coming week as we will be heading to Sioux Falls for Ethan's doctor appointments. We do pray that they will be able to find something as it is beginning to look like he is suffering from brain damage. This can be caused by Encephalopathy, which he had been diagnosed with last year. Although, he was deemed to have Static Encephalopathy. "Static" meaing non progressive, and "Encephalopathy" meaning Disease of the Brain. After doing much research of my own, and his social worker doing the same, I am lead to believe that he has Glycine Encephalopathy, which pretty much fits him to a "T". You can view a discription of Glycine Encephalopathy HERE.
Much prayer is needed, we have seen this doctor before and she has stated then that she could tell something wasn't right on with him, but at that age it was too early to be able to tell or even begin testing. We will keep you posted!

Ethan Alexander
Please pray for us today as we see a Heart Specialist. This could be the second beginning to all the appointments like we had before. We do could the last few months as a blessing with Ethan doing very well in that time, it is seeming that we have taken a few steps backward once again and hopefully with a change in doctors to a Christian who sincerely cares about his well being, we will finally get to the bottom of his health problems once and for all.
Today we have wind gusts up to 60 mph, there will be light snow, and I am driving our Suburban to Rapid! I am a little nervous about this, but I know God is in control.
And just to keep you all updated, we also are going to Sioux Falls the end of February to go to Sanford Health for some special testing and to see Dr Bunch the pediatric neurologist there. The EEG that we had done January 2nd showed to be very abnormal, this is the cause for the testing and what not in Sioux Falls!
"Casting all your cares upon Him for he careth for you." I Peter 5:7
