Saturday night we decided that we would have our 'own' little family Christmas! We spent the day together (after the Princess' dance class) and we were able to finish buying the supplies for what we need to do to finish up the addition. And Handsome allowed me to get a pedicure (as my stocking stuffer) while we were out and about too.
Our 'little' family Christmas has become a tradition over the last few years...we do not actually buy gifts for our childre, just stocking stuffers...but sometimes the stuffers are too big for the stockings so we end up wrapping a couple! 8-)
Princess opening her first stuffer...
There is always some kind of clothing in the stocking for each of them...this year she had a 'beautiful pink sweater' ~ Her words!
Sunshine was able to open his clothing item next!
He had been feeling so left out because Mama & Daddy AND Princess all had scarves, but he did not. I tried and TRIED to find him a 'little boy' scarf, but couldn't. So ended up just buying a cheap black ladies scarf and that made him VERY happy!
The Princess' other stuffer she had to open...anything with a princess on it is good for her!
Sunshine is looking forward to playing his 'wild' game!
Then we actually got down the stockings and I forgot to take any other pictures!
Princess was excited to find the VeggieTales Jonah movie, a Strawberry Shortcake doll, a My Little Pony, and some Resse's Pieces
Sunshine was excited to find some (6) animals for his barn, a Buzz & Woody poster, and Resse's Pieces
Handsome received some AE socks he had been drooling over, an AE necklace, new earphones that stay on for his ipod, AND the Princess Bride DVD (huge sacrifice on my part because I DO NOT LIKE this movie at all!)
Cupcake even had a stocking (more for Daddy's than anyone because Princess and Sunshine each picked out something for her) but she received a set of pink keys (from Sunshine) a pink rattle (from Princess) and a little pink sleeper with cupcakes all over it (from Mama!)
I am still enjoying that my toes are beautiful once again, especially since it is uncomfortable for me to reach them these days!
It was a wonderful time together as a family, and we were able to take time and share with the kids again what Christmas is really all about...not the gifts, but The Gift of baby Jesus!
I love that my children are getting old enough to understand some of these things!
So many things to be Thankful for!
